Custom Commissions

Custom Design work is a large part of my business. I enjoy working with customers to create the perfect piece for their home. Whether you love a particular color palette, have a room with a theme, or need a something to fill a spot in that nook, I will work with you to create a one-of-a-kind design. My custom designs also make special gifts for weddings, new homes, clients or special birthdays.

Below is a selection of my custom design work for past clients.

Created as a wedding gift, the client told me the bride loved Wisteria and Navy Blue. Check. Check! Because it was a wedding gift, I also incorporated a Victorian rendering of a Passion Flower- very romantic! The beautiful thing about these vases if that you can buy simlple flowers or greenery and they look stunning with such a color vase.

A very large, wavy centerpiece bowl done for a clients newly redesigned dining room. Her favorite flower is the Gladiola so I centered the design around that flower. However, her room had a lot of blues, so I brought in some blue and purple morning glories. There are also five birds within the design to symbolize each member of their family.

The client had a small amount of wallpaper that was pulled off of their grandfather’s kitchen wall after he had passed before they sold the house. I was able to take the fabulous 1960s wall paper and make several cuffs, a vase and a couple of frames with the wall paper for my client to give as gifts to her family for Christmas that year.

This was a very fun custon piece that really pushed me. My client was gifting this to her business partner as new home gift. They love Krug Rosé Champagne and graffiti art, and she wanted their family names included. I incorporated these elements and more: the names encircle the top of the glass piece, alongside a prominent Krug Rosé Champagne label. Graffiti art is complemented by classical Roman architecture and a lion's head door knocker motif. Their house number, the Chicago flag, city skyline, and the Chinese astrological sign for the Year of the Rabbit (the year they bought the house) are featured. Sage and succulent botanicals symbolize prosperity and clearing of old spirits, with a vintage 1920s image of the lady of the manor completing the piece.

Custom Clutch with Initials to be gifted.

A Custom Decoupaged sideboard/buffet table. The client was no longer a fan of the original color. so we decided to decoupage the piece with the vintage Thibaut Wallpaper. The botanicals, birds and branches were all individually cutout and placed on the piece and then I hand painted areas to create a seamless look. The top was hand painted.

Made as a teacher gift using a vintage apple shaped glass bowl sourced from a consignement shop. The interior imagery is of apple blossoms. This is one of five total that were made to hand out to the clients’ childrens’ teachers.

This client had a unique wall display that called for 15 votives. Instead of clear glass votives she wanted something more unique so that when they were not lit, they still had visual appeal. She sent me pictures of her space, her favorite colors and this is the look we landed on. Almost each votive is unique, but they hang together as a set. I only wish I had an image of them in the final wall display.

The client and I worked together to create this extra large vase as a gift for a relative who had recently downsized their home and had to move away from a beloved Koi Pond. The Vase can hold water for flowers as the art work is all done on the outside. I am told layered koi and lily pads wrapping around the vase brought tears to the recipients eyes.
